CONDITIONS FOR TRANSITION TO DEGREE PROGRAMME

Candidates hoping to transit to the 4-year Degree Programme must meet the minimum cut-off-mark as specified by the University, for each Department. In addition, to the subject requirements, all candidates hoping to transit from the Pre-Degree Programme to the Degree Programme must choose the University of Port Harcourt, write the 2017/2018 UTME, and obtain the national minimum score.

Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of a non-refundable fee of N11, 000.00 (Eleven Thousand Naira Only). Applicants should log on to www.uniport.edu.ng. Click on Application Procedure for more information.

The names on candidates' O' Level Certificates must be the same as what is filled online. Any false information given automatically disqualifies the applicant.

Closing Date
The sale of Application Forms will close on Friday, 9th September, 2016.

Aptitude Test
The University Aptitude Test will take place on Monday, 26th September, 2016.

UNIPORT M.Sc. In Petroleum Geoscience Admission Form – 2016/17

University of Port-Harcourt, UNIPORT M.Sc.in Petroleum Geoscience Programme admission form for the 2016/2017 academic session is now on sale.

The Centre for Petroleum Geosciences (CPG) was established in 2011 to cater for the geoscience skills and needs of the Petroleum Sector in Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea. The Centre’s programme is of international standard and has evolved under a culture of excellence, global vision and professionalism to meet the ever-growing needs of the technology – driven industry.
CPG offers a conducive academic setting in a bold effort to encourage purposeful learning and research, which also includes field and operational facility visits. The programme, as designed, encourages students’ team spirit and leadership skills by living together and working in teams.
UNIPORT’s effort at developing the Centre is driven by the critical national and regional need to further enhance the professional realm of the academicMaster’s Degree Programme to provide graduates with requisite competence and adequate skills that can deliver the geoscience support needs of the Petroleum Industry.
The academic programme is delivered in modules, jointly by lecturers from the University of Port Harcourt and related academic settings, and also by experts from the Petroleum Industry both within and outside Nigeria.
On completion of this unique profession-driven Master’s Degree Programme, the graduates will among other skills, be able to:
  • Provide adequate geoscience inputs in the evaluation and management of Oil and Gas Fields.
  • Adapt effectively to use of modern techniques in operations, development and production geosciences.
  • Understand and know the state-of-the art techniques in geoscience data acquisition, processing and interpretation.
  • Professionally coordinate and supervise well data gathering and interpretation.
  • Participate skillfully and effectively interface in various Oil and Gas Field Review Programmes and Field Development Teams.
DURATION: The duration of the programme is 12 calendar months of intensive full-time study.
AWARD OF DEGREE: Successful students at the end of the programme shall receive a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Geoscience.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION: Students  shall be prepared and presented for certification as Associate Environmental Professional (AEP) by the National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP), USA and the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON).
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in Geoscience, Petroleum and Gas Engineering or relevant Petroleum Geoscience related field, and should have completed their NYSC by December, 2016. Consideration for admission may be given to Company sponsored student with a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) Degree, but with a CGPA of at least 3.00 (on a 5.00 scale).
APPLICATION FEE: A non-refundable application fee of twenty-one thousand naira (N21,000)will be required to be paid to Centre for Petroleum Geosciences (CPG) on-line through e-transact to start the application procedure. The approved receiving banks for the payment are:First Bank, Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, UBA, FCMB and ECO Bank.
Applicants may access the form on-line from CPG Website and follow instruction for submission. Applicants may also collect the form in person and follow submission procedure.

  • Completed Application Forms must be returned to the Director, Centre for Petroleum Geosciences, University of Port Harcourt, on or before Friday, 9th September, 2016.
  • Aptitude Test holds on Friday, 7th October, 2016
  • Oral interview holds in October, 2016

  • Go to UNIPORT post UTME registration portal @ http://regportal.uniport.edu.ng/#putme/?init=1
  • Input UTME Registration Number and confirm pre-loaded UTME details.
  • Print slip for payment.
  • Proceed to any of the Bank Branches listed on the Registration Procedure and make payment of N2,000.00 (excluding Bank and Access Charges to an online practice test).
  • The Screening Exercise will be Computer-Based.
  • Obtain an e-Tranzact receipt showing an access code from the Bank Teller confirming the payment.
  • Login with your UTME Registration Number and the Access Code on the payment slip and print pre-loaded photo card.
  • Click on submit button and print Photo-card.

CANDIDATES who fail to register within the registration period will not be ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SCREENING EXERCISE.

  • Inconsistency in name or picture on Photo Card will not be acceptable to the University and may lead to disqualification of affected candidates. Candidates’ names on their O’Level Certificates, UTME results and other registration documents must be the same.
  • Mobile Phones, Ipad, Ipod, Walkman and similar gadgets or any extraneous materials will not be allowed into the Screening Venue and its environs.

UNIPORT Diploma in Law Admission Form Out – 2016/17

University of Port-Harcourt, UNIPORT Diploma in Law admission form is now on sale for the 2016/2017 academic session.

This is to inform the general public that sale of Application Forms for admission into the Diploma in Law of the College of Continuing Education, University of Port Harcourt for the 2016/2017 academic session session has commenced.

Diploma in Law – Duration and Entry Requirements.

Duration of Programme
The Diploma in Law Programme is a Continuing Education Programme and will run for two academic sessions; each session divided into two semesters.  Students having no more than five courses to repeat or clear at the end of the second year will be   allowed a maximum of one additional academic session to do so, bringing the maximum duration of the programme to three academic sessions (six semesters).
Entry Requirements
Candidates must have Ordinary Level Credit passes in at least four subjects, including English Language in the WASSC/SSCE/NECO/GCE, obtained at not ore than two sittings.

UNIPORT Diploma in Law Admission – Method of Application.

  1. Log on to http://my2.uniport.edu.ng and click on “Register” sign up and print payment slip.
  2. Click on Application Form from the Applicant drop down menu to complete the application form and create an account.
  3. After creating your account you will be redirected to the login page. Select Diploma & Professional Certificate Applicant as your User Type. Enter either your Phone Number, Email Address, or Application Number as your User ID and enter your password to login.
  4. Log in to your account to print your application payment slip before proceeding to any of the designated banks to make payment of (N11,000.00) only, excluding Bank charges and obtain an eTranzact receipt.
  5. Login back to your account and verify your payment using the confirmation order number on the eTranzact receipt, fill in the necessary information, upload your passport on the photograph and print your photo card.
WARNING: Do not go to the bank to pay your application fees without printing your payment slip online. Payments should be made for the Payment Slip Number on your payment slip. Do not make payment for any other number.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION INTO UNIPORT PART-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Holders of WAEC/SSCE, GCE ‘O’ Level or their equivalent with credit passes in 5 relevant subjects,(including English & Mathematics) who have worked for not less than 4 years in relevant fields of application are eligible to apply.
The following subjects: Book Keeping, Business Studies, Typewriting, Secretarial Studies, Shorthand, Social Studies and Health Science are not acceptable.
1a) For a Degree in History and Diplomatic Studies, a candidate must have five credit passes which must include English Language, History or Government and any other Three subjects from: Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry Physics, Agric. Sc, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography and Commerce.
1b) For a Degree Programme in English Studies, candidates must have five credit passes, which must include English Language, Literature in English and any other three subjects from: History or Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agric. Science, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography and Commerce.
1c) For a Degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies, a candidate must have five credit passes, which must include English Language and any other four subjects from Literature in English, History or Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics Biology, Chemistry, Agric. Science, Physics, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography and Commerce.
1d) For a Degree in Philosophy, a candidate must have five credit passes, which must include English Language and any other four subjects from Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Economics. Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agric. Sc, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, History or Government, Commerce and Geography. At least a Pass in either Maths, a Science subject or Literature in English is required.
1e) For a Degree in Religious and Cultural Studies, a candidate must have five credit passes, which must include English Language and any other four subjects from Literature in English, History or Government, CRK/IRK, Economics. a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, and Commerce, Geography, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Agric. Science.
2. For a Degree Programme in the Faculty of Social Sciences, candidates must have five credit passes, including English Language, two of which must be Social Science subjects, (Economics, Geography, Government or History) and credit in any other two Arts subjects.
2a) However, candidates for the B.Sc. in Public Administration, are expected mandatorily to have credit passes in English Language, Government or History, Economics and any other two subjects from: Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Agric. Science and Mathematics or at least a pass in Mathematics, if Mathematics is not inclusive of the five credit passes.
2b) For a Degree Programme in Economics, candidates are expected to have 5 credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History/Geography and any other subject from Commerce, CRK/IRK, Literature in English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Agric. Science.
2c) For a Degree Programme in Sociology (Community Development and Social Welfare), candidates must have 5 credit passes, which must include English Language and any other four subjects from: Economics, Commerce, Government/History Geography, CRK/IRK, Mathematics or at least a pass in Mathematics, if Mathematics is not inclusive of the five credit passes.
3. For a Degree Programme in the Faculty of Management Sciences, candidate must have five credit passes, in WAEC/SSCE, GCE ‘O’ Level which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two subjects from: Government or History, Geography, Commerce, Accounting, Literature in English, CRK/IRK Science subjects- Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Agric. Sc.
3a For a Degree Programme in Management, candidates must have five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Government/ History ,Geography, Commerce, Accounting. Literature in English, Christian Religious Knowledge/IRK, Science subject -Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
3b For a Degree Programme in Marketing candidates must have five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Government/Hostory Geography, Commerce, Accounting, Literature in English, Christian Religious Knowledge/IRK, Science subject – Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
3c For a Degree Programme in Accounting candidates must have five credits passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Government/History Geography, Commerce, Accounting, Literature in English, Christian Religious Knowledge/IRK, Science subject- Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
3d For a Degree Programme in Finance and Banking candidates must have five O’Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two from Government/History Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, Christian Religious Knowledge/IRK, Science subject – Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
4. For a Degree Programme in Computer Science, candidates must have five credit passes, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
NOTE: ONLY ‘O’ LEVEL IN WAEC (SSCE/GCE), NABTEB AND NECO Certificates are acceptable for registration.
i. TC II is not acceptable
ii. The sets of names stated by candidates in their Application Forms must be consistent with the names on their credentials. Inconsistency in names may lead to disqualification.
iii. Candidates with O/Level Examination Results from 2010 backwards must present their Original Certificates and not Statement of Results or Result Slips.

UNIPORT Part-Time Degree Admission – Screening of Applicants.

All candidates who have applied for admission into the various Degree Programmes of the College will be required to undergo a Computer – Based Test (CBT), at a date to be announced later.

UNIPORT Part-Time Degree Admission – Method of Application.

i. Application for the various Programmes is on-line. Log on to www.uniport.edu.ng and click on Application Procedure in CCE, then follow the instructions.
ii. Application Forms can be obtained on-line on payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000.00) only excluding Bank charges at designated Banks nationwide.
iii. The names on candidates O’Level certificate(s) must be the same as what is filled on-line.
iv. Change of name is not allowed once a candidate is admitted.
v. Candidates must ensure that they have the requisite qualifications for the intended course.
vi. Candidates should report to the Examinations and Records Unit, CCE, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, with photocopies of their credentials for collection of Brochure.

UNIPORT 1st Semester Examination Timetable Is out for 2015-2016

University of Port-Harcourt, UNIPORT examination timetable for first semester, 2015/2016 academic session.

Following the approval of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT ) resumption date by the Senate, the management of the institution released the first semester, 2015/2016 academic session examination timetable.
According to the academic calendar and the new timetable, UNIPORT First Semester Examinations will begin on Today, 20th June and end on Saturday, 16th July, 2016.
