Lagos State University, LASU notice to candidates whose chosen courses are not available in the 2016/2017 academic session.
It has been observed that some candidates who chose the Lagos State University as their choice of institution (1st or 2nd) have not been able to register for the 2016/2017 admission screening exercise as a result of non-availability of their chosen courses during the 2016/2017 Academic session. The affected courses are Business Administration, English Language, French, Yoruba & Communication Arts and Philosophy.
In view of this, the affected candidates in respect of the listed programmes have been given the option of changing their choice of courses to any course relating to their 1st choice of course, FOR WHICH THEY ARE QUALIFIED.
1.) Candidates changing course from Business Administration to related courses must possess Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects, applicable to their new choice of course.
2.) Candidates changing course from English Language to related courses must possess Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Literature in English and three (3) other subjects, applicable to their new choice of course.
3.) Candidates changing course from French to related courses must possess Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language and French plus at least one (1) other Arts subject.
4.) Candidates changing course from Yoruba & Communication Arts to related courses must possess Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Yoruba, plus any other three (3) subjects.
5.) Candidates changing course from Philosophy to related courses must possess Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, and four (4) other Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
In addition to this, candidates must ensure that their UTME subject combinations of their 1st choice of courses are related to the UTME subject combinations of their new chosen courses (please consult the 2016/2017 JAMB Brochure for detailed information).

LASU Law (LL.B) Admission Screening Form is Out – 2016/17
Lagos State University, LASU Law (LL.B) programme admission screening form for the 2016/2017 academic session is now on sale.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Lagos State University (LASU) Law (LL.B) programme during the 2016/2017 admission process.

LASU LL.B Admission Eligibility.
To be eligible for participation in the screening exercise, the underlisted conditions must be met by any prospective candidate.- Candidates must have chosen Lagos State University as University of first Choice (more preferred) and must have scored a minimum of 190 marks in the UTME.
- Candidates must have relevant subject combinations in WAEC/NECO and JAMB, i.e. Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics plus any other two (2) subjects. While UTME subject combinations should be English Language and Literature in English plus any other two (2) subjects.

- a) Your Screening Exercise will commence after the receipt of the 2nd choice Omnibus list from JAMB after the conclusion of the 1st round of the screening exercise.
- b) Screening exercise for candidates who chose LASU as 2nd choice of institution will take place in August, 2016. However, information in relation to this second (2nd) round of screening will be placed on LASU website.
- c) You must constantly check LASU website for announcement on the time-table for the Screening Exercise for candidate in your category.
- d) Spaces have been reserved for second (2nd) choice candidates for the purpose of this exercise.
- e) Candidates that did not chose LASU are not QUALIFIED for screening. However; if such candidates apply, they will not only be DISQUALIFIED, but would also forfeit whatever payment made, as it is NON-REFUNDABLE.
- f) Candidates that have earlier made payment (1st and 2nd choice) for the screening exercise are assured that they will be considered for the 2016/2017 screening exercise as appropriate.
LASU JUPEB Admission Form: Get Admitted Into 200 Level [2016/17]
Lagos State University, LASU foundation programme (JUPEB) admission application form for the 2016/2017 academic session is out. LASU foundation programme is an intensive programme to prepare exceptionally brilliant candidates for admission into the 200 level degree programme offered by JUPEB AFFILIATED UNIVERSITIES.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Lagos State University Foundation Programme which shall commence in August, 2016.
LASU foundation programme shall run for 12 calendar months beginning from August, 2016 to July, 2017. The Programme is located in the Lagos State University Foundation Programme Campus, ASCON Road, Topo, Badagry.
(b) Students who meet the admission requirements will be invited for a written qualifying examination.
(c) Successful candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of Twenty Five Thousand Naira only (N25,000.00).
CRITERIA FOR TRANSITING TO 200 LEVEL
The course allocated will be determined by the level of performance.
Students will sit for JUPEB examination at the end of course and will be able to transit to 200L into any of the JUPEB Affiliated Universities.
CLOSING DATE
The closing date for the Submission of application forms is Fourteen (14) days from the date of this publication.
DATE FOR THE QUALIFYING EXAMINATION
A qualifying examination for admission into the Programme holds on Wednesday, 29th June, 2016, on the LASU Foundation Programme Location, Topo Road, Badagry.

Wow LASU Awards Best Students Of 2015/2016 With A Sum Of N4m
The Lagos State University reportedly awarded some of the best performing students in 2015/2016 academic session with a cash reward. A total of 160 students were said to have received a total of N4m, for making or surpassing the 4.5 CGPA Mark during the session.
The VC of the institution Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, presented the cheques to them on behalf of the school management on Friday, June 17, at the Ojo Campus. While presenting N25,000 to each student, the VC congratulated them and urged them not to relent their efforts
He said: “We are proud of you, but you must work harder to sustain the grade.
“Do not relent in your efforts because you were celebrated today.”
The Vice-Chancellor also urged the other students to work harder “to join the success train so that they will be rewarded also."
Dean of Students Affairs at the institution, Dr. Olufemi Obayori also gave words of encouragement.
He said: “To the generality of students here, it is never too late to join the ranks of the chosen.
“It is possible.
“You can do it."
Omoworare Oluwatobi, a 200-level medical student who made 4.95 CGPA, attributed her feat to God’s mercy and hard work.
Oluwatobi said: “I will continue to pray and study harder to ensure that I graduate with a first class.”
Of the 160 students, 35 were from College of Medicine, another 35 from the Faculty of Management Sciences, 32 from Faculty of Social Sciences and 34 from Faculty of Science.
Thirteen students were from the Faculty of Education, nine from Faculty of Engineering and two from Faculty of Arts.

The management of the Lagos State University (LASU) is using this opportunity to appeal to our “PROSPECTIVE” students who chose LASU as their “PREFERRED” choice to “EXERCISE PATIENCE with respect to the frustration of NOT being able to complete their online registration which will be sorted out soon.
The university management assures you that NOBODY who had chosen LASU will be denied the right to participate, and for those who have paid, you will not be required to pay again once the problem is fixed.
