Apply For £2,000 Masters Scholarship At University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK

Applications are currently on for University of Aberdeen Masters scholarship. The scholarship is open to citizens from Vietnam, China and African countries including Nigeria.

The scholarship offers £2,000 (equivalent of N752, 338.41) tuition fee discount.

Eligibility

-You must have been given a conditional or unconditional offer of admissions for an eligible Masters programme (postgraduate taught programme) at the University of Aberdeen.
-You must be planning on beginning your studies in September 2016 or January 2017.
-You must be classed as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
-You must be a full-time international student.
-You must be based on the Aberdeen campus for the course of study.

Application Process

You automatically qualify for this scholarship once you have applied and given a conditional or unconditional offer of admission for an eligible Masters Programme. They will be notified via email from the Vice Principal for Internationalisation to advise you that you have been offered the scholarship with instructions on how to accept the scholarship.

A new competition launched on 3rd June, 2016 will award a $100 million grant to a single proposal designed to help to solve a critical problem affecting people, places of the planet. MacArthur’s competition, called lOO&Change. is open to organizations working in any field of endevour anywhere.
Applicants must identify both the problem they are trying to solve, as well as their proposed solution. Competitive proposals will be meaningful, verifiable, durable and feasible.

Nigerian Agip Oil Company Tertiary Scholarship Scheme 2016 For 100 Level Students

The Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited (NAOC) Joint Venture in pursuance of its Corporate Social Responsibility invites suitably qualified applicants for its 2015/2016 Session Tertiary Scholarship Scheme, effective from 13th June to 27th June, 2016.

Category of Awards

Host Communities Merit Award – For applicants strictly from NAOC Host Communities
National Merit Award – For applicants from Non-Host communities

Eligibility
To qualify for consideration, applicants MUST be:

-Registered Full TIME undergraduates in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions
-Certified 100 level students at the time of application

NOTE: The following categories of students should not apply:
200 level students and above
-Current beneficiaries of similar Awards from other Companies and Agencies
-Dependants of NAOC/NAE/AENR

Only Indigenes of NAOC Host Communities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Imo States SHOULD apply for the Host Communities Merit Award.

14. Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.
15. If National Identification Number (NIN) number was not available in step 6, to obtain your National Identification Number (NIN)
-Visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and learn more about the National Identity Number
-Click "Create Account" and fill in the required fields
-Login with Email and Password to complete the form
-After completion, schedule a date for photo and finger print capture
-Visit any of the capture centres https://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number
-You can also do your total registration at the NIMC office
16. Return to www.scholastica.ng/schemes/naocscholarships and update application with National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion.

Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited 2016/2017 Postgraduate Scholarship Award

Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Limited, on behalf of the NNPC/NAE/Oando PSC, is committed to the training and development of manpower as part of its Social Investment programme. Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Limited, has supported the education of hundreds of Nigerian students through its Post Graduate scholarship scheme.

Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Limited, along with its PSC partners, initiated this scholarship programme to help build capacities of young and brilliant Nigerians and further boost the pool of qualified manpower for deep offshore activities in the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry.

In pursuance of this, NAE Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and interested Nigerian graduates for the 2016/2017 Post Graduate Scholarship Award Scheme. The award is in two categories: –

1. Overseas – For study in a reputable overseas university
2. Local – For study in a recognized Nigerian university

Eligibility
To qualify for 2016/2017 NAE Post Graduate Scholarship Award scheme, applicants MUST:

1. Possess a minimum of Second Class Upper division in any of the relevant disciplines from a recognised Nigerian university.
2. Have secured admission into a Nigerian or Overseas university for a one year Master’s Degree programme in any of the disciplines listed below.
3. Not be above 28 years of age by December 31st, 2016.
4. Have completed the one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

• Geosciences

Participation of Young African Scholars at the Biennial Conference ILA, Johannesburg, 7-11 August 2016
AIM:  Professor van Genugten has established a Scholarship Fund to assist graduate & postgraduate students and early career professionals in Africa to attend the ILA2016 Biennial Conference in Johannesburg. The aim of the scholarship is to allow young African scholars to participate in the conference, to take part in the debate, and meet colleagues, in order to inspire them to continue working in the domain of international law. Meeting colleagues and receiving inspiration is important to become or remain active in the field and to keep working on topics that require so much effort and a nuanced understanding of ‘legal issues in a societal context.
ELIGIBILITY:
The candidate must:
  • be enrolled in a graduate or post-graduate course on international law or be an early career professional in international law in an African country (first five years);
  • show a strong interest in international law (which can be demonstrated by, for example, a law school major, classes, papers and extra-curricular activities);
  • explain how participation in the conference would benefit his/her research or career in international law;
  • establish that he/she does not have access to other sources of funding, for instance from his/her home institution;
AWARD: Full Scholarships cover the registration fees; accommodation as selected by the host branch, reasonable travel costs and a per diem allowance depending on the cost of living in the host country, as agreed to in advance by and to the discretion of the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee may also decide to award a Partial Scholarship.
APPLICATIONS: Applications for scholarships for the ILA2016 Biennial Conference in Johannesburg (7-11 August 2016) must be received by 20 June 2016. Applicants should download and complete the application form. This should be sent with all accompanying documents, as mentioned on the application form, to: ILAscholarshipfund@tilburguniversity.edu.
The Selection Committee will announce their decisions by 30 June 2016 and successful applicants will be informed immediately. The Selection Committee aims to award scholarships for participation in the ILA 2016 biennial conference to the value of €10.000.

FG Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards 2016/2017 - Apply Now

The Federal Ministry of Education invites interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2016/2017 Nomination Interview for Bilateral Education Agreement, BEA Scholarship Award.

The Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship will be Awarded to:

-Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Serbia, Hungary, Egypt, Turkey, Cuba, Romania, Ukraine, Japan, Macedonia; and

-Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, e.t.c.

Fields of Study

Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), etc; and
Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and Ph.D) in all fields.

Criteria for Eligibility
Undergraduate Scholarship:

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (A’s & B’s) in the Senior Secondary School Certificate, WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than Two (2) years old (2014 & 2015). Age limit is from 18 to 20 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship:

All applicants must hold a First Degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division. The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have completed at least two (2) years post qualification or employment practice in Nigeria. All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.

Note (For all Applicants)

Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one year foreign language of the country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction; and

Venue of Interview
All eligible applicants are to report for interview at the venues scheduled for their respective Zones of origin for proper identification. Two sets of the Printed Completed application forms are usually submitted at the various interview centres with the following attachments:

-Two sets of Photocopies of Educational Certificates and Testimonials of previous schools attended with the originals for sighting;

-One certificate is accepted i.e WAEC of May/June only; Statement of results must be confirmed by WAEC and forwarded to the Director/Secretary, Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja;

-Two copies of Birth certificate

-State of Origin/LGA certificate duly signed, stamped and dated;

-Four (4) passport sized coloured photographs on white background;

-Academic transcripts and NYSC certificates will be required from applicants for Postgraduate Studies.

2016/2017 BEA Interview Venues and Dates from 7th – 11th March, 2016

Note
Candidates nominated and finally selected by the awarding BEA countries will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following:

-Photocopies of Authenticated academic certificates;
-Data page of current International passport, and
-Specified Medical Reports & Police clearance certificate.

OPEC Fund for International Development, OFID Scholarship 2016

This is to announce the OFID Scholarship 2016. OFID is pleased to announce that qualified applicants who have obtained or are on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree and who wish to study for a Master’s degree are welcome to apply for the OFID Scholarship 2016/2017. OFID scholarships will be awarded to four students or candidates for master’s degree studies. Applicants must be from a developing country (except OFID Member Countries), and he/she must first obtain admission to pursue a Master’s degree studies in a relevant field of development, from any recognized university/college in the world. Through its OFID Scholarship 2016 scholarship scheme, OFID aims to help highly motivated, highly driven individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of graduate studies. The winners of the OFID Scholarship Award will receive a scholarship of up to US$50,000. The funds will be spread over a maximum of one year, toward the completion of a Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an accredited educational institution, starting in the autumn of the academic year 2016/2017. STEP 1: Ensure that you fulfill the OFID Scholarship Award Eligibility Criteria. STEP 2: Register within the OFID Scholarship Portal by using your email address. Please note you can log onto the portal as many times as required before finally submitting the application. STEP 3: Fill out the application form. Make sure to save data each time you update your application. Once you are logged in, if the page remains inactive for more than two hours, your session will time-out and you may lose unsaved data. Do not submit your application until you have completed the entire application process! Nigerian Governor Sponsors 30 Female Students

Governor sponsors 30 female students. Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has reportedly awarded scholarship to 30 female students from the State to study medical courses in Uganda. PM News reports that the Kaduna government, represented by Commissioner for Education, Dr Shehu Adamu, in a statement, on Tuesday, January 12, said that the chosen students will leave Kaduna sometime this month.
He said the aim was to encourage girl-child education by enhancing access to educational opportunities. Adamu also stated. during his speech in Kaduna, that all teachers on deputy director level serving outside classrooms must return to classes before being promoted as director henceforth. He said the policy, which came into effect from January 1, was to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in public schools. The commissioner stressed that such personnel must also sit for promotion examination before their elevation.

2015 NNPC/MPN Undergraduate Scholarship Awards

As part of support to educational development and
!human capacity building, Mobil Producing Nigeria
(MPN), operator of Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC)/MPN Joint Venture awards annual
scholarships to qualified undergraduate students in
Nigerian Universities. Applications for the 2015 NNPC/
MPN Undergraduate National Scholarship is now open.


Awards will be made to qualified and suitable students
who are currently admitted in Nigerian Universities
irrespective of state of origin including the Federal
Capital Territory (FCT)

This program is funded by Mobil Producing Nigeria,
operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC)/MPN Joint Venture. Since 1998, a
total of 500 undergraduate scholarships are awarded
annually. This is a significant increase on the 13 awards
offered at inception of the scheme in 1974. The awards
are made to suitably qualified students from every state
of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory
(FCT). However, about 62 per cent of the total NNPC/
MPN Undergraduate scholarship awards are allocated to
students who are indigenes of the operational
communities/ States - Akwa Ibom (50%) and Rivers
States (12%). There is also a merit award (10%) to the
best 50 candidates in the selection tests. The remaining
places go to students from other states including the
Federal Capital territory (FCT), based on merit and fair
geographical spread. The current scholarship awards
are for disciplines in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical
Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics and Civil,) Geology/
Geophysics, Medicine, Agricultural Science (and related
fields) as well as Computer Science.
Other schemes sponsored by this partnership include
the NNPC/ESSO National and International
Postgraduate Scholarship Awards. These scholarship
programs are amongst several initiatives by the
ExxonMobil upstream subsidiary companies EEPNL and
MPN), along with the respective partners and co-
venturer, to help build capacities of young and brilliant
Nigerians and further boost pool of qualified manpower
for career opportunities in Nigeria and abroad.

E-applications are invited from full-time undergraduates
in their FIRST YEAR (100 LEVEL) or SECOND YEAR (200
LEVEL) of study in any of the under-listed courses in
Nigerian Universities:
1. Petroleum Engineering
2. Chemical Engineering
3. Mechanical Engineering
4. Electrical/Electronics Engineering
5. Civil Engineering
6. Geology/Geophysics
7. Medicine (MBBS Only)
8. Agricultural Science (And related fields)

Eligibility
a. Candidates must be holders of the SSCE or its
Equivalent with at least six subjects passed at a sitting
b. Applicants must be registered full-time
undergraduates in their 1st or 2nd year of study in any
Nigerian University
c. Students who are currently on similar scholarship
awards from other oil and gas companies should not
apply
d. Dependants of employees of Mobil Producing Nigeria,
Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc and Esso Exploration and
Production Nigeria Limited are not eligible for this
scholarship.

(I4A) focused on financing sustainable

development for youth in Africa and beyond.

Ideas for Action is an ideas competition on

financing for sustainable development for youth

sponsored by the World Bank Group and the Zicklin

Center,Wharton School.

Today's youth will be responsible for delivering the

post-2015 development agenda, also known as the

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will

replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)

when they expire at the end of 2015. The SDGs will

be more ambitious than the MDGs, covering a broad

range of interconnected issues, from sustainable

economic growth, to social issues, to global public

goods. To realize this vision, a just-as-ambitious

plan for financing and implementation is needed.

Youth engagement throughout the design and

implementation process is critical for success. The

Ideas for Action (I4A) competition engages young

people around the world to encourage them to

develop and share their ideas for financing

solutions to deliver the post-2015 development

agenda.

Submission Requirements

Submissions that do not meet the format

requirements listed below will be disqualified.

Format:

Proposals should be between 1,500 and 3,000

words, with proper citations and references. The

word count does not include the appendix,

footnotes/citations, or any charts/graphs. Teams

should use the template at the end of this

document and include a 200-word abstract

summarizing the key points of the proposal.

The submission must be in Times New Roman, 12 pt

font.

All appropriate information must be cited.

The submission should be sent in PDF or Microsoft

Word format in English

Solution Areas:

The expectation for teams is to focus on one of the

issues below and develop a creative yet

realistic and implementable solution that will

increase the financing available and/or improve

the efficiency and effectiveness of existing funds.

Another possibility is to select more than one

issue, and develop a solution that is based on

blended sources of finance

Domestic Resource Mobilization: improving the

ability of countries to collect and

direct public resources generated from taxes and/

or improve efficiency of public

spending.

Better and Smarter Aid: improving how aid is

structured and disbursed in light of a

rapidly changing donor environment.

International Private Finance: improving business

environments to attract investment.

Domestic Private Sector: mobilizing domestic

private capital

Business and Development Innovations: improving

business environments in developing economies via

innovative private/public partnership models.

Awards

Winners of the competition will be given an

opportunity to influence the post-2015 financing

discussions and its implementation, including:

Present winning proposal at the IMF/World Bank

Spring and/or Annual Meetings in April and October

2016, respectively.

Engagement with experts from development

organizations, academia, and business on finance

for development post-2015.

Participation in a boot camp, where the winners

will visit a company, organization or university to

take part in specific project implementation and

get hands on experience.

Participation in the Wharton School Knowledge

Exchange Activities and Global Classroom.

The Nigerian Renaissance Initiative Scholarship has been set up by an anonymous donor to run every year so as to enable school leavers with university ambitions that would have otherwise not been able to achieve their educational aspirations due to financial constraints.
